Let us come face to face with one of the most solemn issues in the
whole history of the world. Jesus came to answer the historic lie
that Satan had spoken in the Garden of Eden. That is why He came to
the world. He is the answer to every lie. The Son of God became
incarnate and said, “I am the truth” (John 14:6, John 18:37).
Everyone that is of the truth hears His voice. To this end He came.
Everyone who is of the truth hears Him and bears witness of Him.
Jesus is the embodiment of God’s answer to the great historic lie.
Jesus Christ is the eternal answer. That is why the devil hated the
Lord, for Jesus not only said the truth, but He is the truth. Satan
stirred up the hearts of men who hated the truth. Satan came against
Jesus Christ to kill Him through the lives of men who were slaves to
Satan’s lies. Therefore, saints, let us know that Christ is the
answer and He alone can deliver us out of every lie, every harmful
thing, every negative thing and every evil. The Lord Jesus exposed
religious men and laid bare their true nature. He tore their masks
apart and exposed their play-acting. No wonder they were driven by
the enemy to kill Him!
With the Lord Jesus Christ truth was not some abstract thing. It was
not just that He spoke the truth. He was and is the truth Himself.
He became a personal power in this universe, a mighty effective
witness against everything that was a lie. Therefore, when He came
into this world, the battle between the truth and the lie came to a
high point! Remember that from the very beginning, when the Lord
Jesus was born, the great hypocrite Herod sought to kill and
exterminate Him.
What does the Lord want us to do? He wants to set us free from the
lie and every effect and influence of the lie. He not only delivers
us from the lies we speak, but He also delivers us from the
consequence of lies in our lives. The world is full of
deceitfulness, dishonesty, falseness, treachery, and untruthfulness.
We have to be careful that we are not influenced by the world and
its lies. God wants us to be delivered from every negative influence
of the world. Let us believe God and His Word. Today, everything,
even in the midst of God’s people, has become a mixture. Jesus said
that He is the truth. The Scriptures say that in Him there is no
darkness. In truth there is no darkness. People say they speak the
truth but what follows is a string of lies. People lay hands on holy
books and say they will speak the truth and nothing but the truth,
but they speak a bunch of lies. We are living in a world that is
ruled by lies. When Jesus said that He is the truth we know that in
Him there was no darkness. If there is any darkness in truth then it
is not the truth. The reality is that we are continuously influenced
by lies in one form or another, for we are living in a world that is
governed by lies and the father of lies. Only the Holy Spirit can
open our eyes, convict us of the omnipresence of lies in the world,
and set us free from every form and appearance of lies.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will
guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you
things to come.
Jesus is the answer. He is the truth. Not only is Christ the truth,
but the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth |
